History
The Elephant House Cafe was opened in 2016 in the old town of Târgu Mureș.  The founders of the cafe are Bodoc Victor and his wife Bodoc Bianca. The idea to open a cafe comes from the desire to drink good coffee.

The name came from the idea of an elephant and thanks to a package of coffee bought during a holiday. On that coffee, the package had an illustration of an elephant. Another reason was the significance of the elephant, which represents the warm countries and the big coffee production countries.

Challenge
The original visual identity was created by Bodoc Bianca. The only element of the visual identity is the logo itself, the main problem was the missing concept behind it, and the execution was unprofessional. From the menu to the packaging there is no single graphic element, brand colors, or font which is strategically designed.

The Result

The logo is a combination of the three essential elements of the cafe, the elephant, the coffee cup, and the symbols of the house. I kept the essence of the old logo, but I created a more minimalistic design. The logo itself is simple, easy to remember, and has an elegant vibe.

The Elephant House Cafe rebranding resulted in an elegant, minimalistic design. It was inspired by the African culture but reinterpreted in a modern way. The brand colors are monochromatic, which I lightened up with a combination of brown and grey.
